A Children's Society report says that too much exposure to TV and the internet causes mental illness in children.

There are so many things these days that can affect a childs mental health!..In my opinion I think that television and electronic games are okay in limitation,but too many these days do not learn at a young age any social skills,as they are not allowed to play out like it was possible years ago,and so by playing these games and watching television too much,and on their own in their rooms it does no good in the long run!..Mental Illness is so complex and so many factors come into it!....

It is just so sad to see so many youngsters,who should be as worry free as possible having to be treated for mental health related illnesses!...

Yes I do agree, families are losing the art of communication with television, internet, chat forums:fear: video games etc. Also families don't eat together much these days, eating round a table in a lot of families is difficult due to long working hours etc. Social skills are sadly being lost due to MSN and mobile phones.

Its very true that there is not the same strong family bond that there used to be. Meal times were very important The tv was turned off and we talked about stuff..:kiss:

i just can't understand it !! If I had been lucky enough to have kids I would have tried to keep a table rule.:kiss:
