I went to the doctors this morning, were she told me to stick with the antidepressants for another 12 months, just to be on the safe side and with it being diagosed with major depression last September. A relapse may hit me like a ton of bricks. She wants me in work for at least a good 12 months and to be up and running first. I,m a bit gutted because I was expecting March or April.

Did you mean she wants you to be 'out' of work?

No Twinkle before she takes me off the medication she wants me to be able to cope with going out to work. She says if u start work without the tablets and you have a relapse then it will take you back to square one again. If I,m feelin happy in a job, coping with every day life, like normal then I can come off. Does that make sense.

Yes it does, sorry I misread what you were saying!...It is wise for everything to be taken slowly, then the chance of a relapse is minimal!..

Its hard to get a ballance. Going to work is stressful on its own. I think you should get a good support network around you first, maybe try and do some volunteering for a few hours a week to ease back to it ?

Yeah, that's a good idea Titch (See, Snowy does have them sometimes!!). That way YOU can call the shots as to how many days a week you work, maybe two to start with and then increase it slowly. Volunteering is very rewarding.

Thanks for that I,m actually starting a job soon, only 10 hours a week, just waiting for my CRB check to do. Its care in the community. Its only 2 hours a day at first.

That sounds really good and it will give you some structure for your day,not too tiring too,and then build from there!...I really wish you well!..xx

Blimey, Jan, that's a long time! I've had a few CRB checks done in the past for voluntary work I've done and they've taken no longer than three weeks to come back.
